This is a vital message: one of the larger reasons BlueSky is refreshingly free of alt-right shitlords is because in the early days we made a gentleperson’s agreement to starve these fuckos out and it worked. No likes, no quotes, no engagement. They got bored and left. Please keep the Old Ways.
Vice-President JD Vance confirms he has joined BlueSky.

AI does not democratise assets. It steals them for the profit of corporations.

This has never been about individual liberty. It is another transfer of money and power.

Every single time you use AI to look something up, correct something, it is a surrender.

Turn it off, let it die.

"Hallucinations" is a bad term for Generative AI because it implies some of the outputs are "correct" when models have no conception and make no attempt at correct or incorrect information.

Better term for ai output is "Weighted Noise"

yeah ill bang this drum as many times as i need to, everything produced by generative ai is a "hallucination." Accuracy is a coincidence
i’m very open to ChatGPT having some utility. but a few times for If Books Could Kill i’ve asked ChatGPT to aggregate existing sources of criticism for a book. what it produces are without fail almost entirely hallucinations. and not just one, i mean lists of 5-6 articles that do not exist.
i can see how you would come to this conclusion if your job didn't require you to ever be correct
