Blue Skies ahead....
Beyond the top 7; Tehan falls, Carson falls, Cascade falls, Maple falls, Castlerock falls, Wildcat canyon, Little yosemite, Dawn falls, Fall creek, Pacheco creek falls, Grizzly gulch waterfall, Tiptoe falls...These all have their own special charms, that's my list anyone know of any hidden gems?

Number 7 Diablo waterfalls...The NW quadrant of Mt Diablo is much more rugged and extreme when compared with the rolling hills surrounding it. During a good rainy season this is the place to be as a series of perennial waterfalls tumble through the canyon.

Number 6 Alamere Falls....Not quite the Bay Area but for a waterfall that drains into the Pacific and one of the rare swimmable lakes this hike from Palomarin to Wildcat camp then a mile along a secluded beach to a coastal waterfall has to be experienced at least once.

Back to Big Basin for number 5 Sempervirens Falls. A short but all encompassing Redwood forest experience beginning at the Ancient Redwoods before an offshoot to the falls then up to slippery rock and back along the aptly named opal creek, it's hard to beat!

Number 4: The hike to Murietta falls is one of the most challenging and exciting hikes in the Bay Area. Equivalent to hiking to the top of Half dome from Yosemite Valley the hike begins at Lake Del Valle up and into Williams Gulch before steeply climbing to Johnny's pond then to Murietta falls.

In 3rd place is Uvas Canyon which lies hidden until any sign of rain. This hike along Swanson creek is filled with waterfalls of all shapes and sizes. Truly a respite from the concrete jungles of the South Bay, this is highly treasured to locals.

Number 2 is picturesque Berry Creek Falls. 10 miles of hiking through cathedral old growth redwoods. This was the greatest hike in the bay area but in 2020 devestated by fire only to hopefully be reborn in the coming years . A gentle reminder to appreciate the moment as tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Considering the rain is subsiding and the creeks flowing, I am going through my top 7 favorite waterfall hikes in the Bay Area

Beginning with the top spot everyones favorite Cataract Falls! Easily accessible and about 2 miles with ~1,200 feet filled with cascades this is an absolute gem of a hike!

Remarkable view of #BombCyclone west of Oregon & Washington and associated #AtmosphericRiver west of California this PM. Fortunately, the strongest winds will remain well offshore, but very heavy rainfall is likely across portions of northern CA into weekend. #CAwx #ORwx #WAwx

Good morning and Happy Tuesday to everyone who is determined to survive these next four years just so we can tell these annoying, selfish MAGA fuckers "I told you so."

They voted for the orange ass-teroid.

Terrible news today:

This year, one-third of coral cover has been destroyed in two northern sections of the Great Barrier reef due to anthropogenic heating.

Results for the southern sections (which were even hotter) have not been officially released.

Just so we’re clear -
Any party telling you who you can love, what gender you are, which medicine you can take, which books you can read, which history you can learn, what prayers you should pray and what you can and cannot do with your own body, doesn’t give a fuck about freedom.
