This is the guy in Durham who has been going into bars and businesses threatening gay people and women and saying racist things. He's a Proud Boy who was pardoned by Trump. He lives in Chapel Hill but is terrorizing Durham because there are more Black people there.

Hello sir! I am trying to start a Chapter of the Guardian Angels in Durham NC. Recently released 6er has come to queer and black venues looking to cause chaos. Anyone here from Durham want to help organize send me a message. We need to show them we are unified.

I finally gave in and watched the whole exchange, and sadly I recommend it if you want to understand what happened.

The transcript below does not convey how much Trump and Vance constantly talked and shouted over Zelensky. And Trump’s… segue into other topics at the end should be heard.

worth saying again that this was a bait and switch. if trump had openly announced he was running on allowing companies to discriminate against women and minorities he would not have won wapo.st/43aVQg1
Trump officials start dismantling civil rights offices, as part of DOGE’s secret plan
Legal experts said that unwinding a civil rights-era bulwark designed to safeguard employees’ rights removes a crucial check on institutional power.

What people can endure and rise from is incredible. As heartbroken, angry, and exhausted as I and we are, we cannot stop fighting. We cannot stop fighting.

So much of life happens when we are not aware of it happening. We fall into jobs or relationships because sometimes it just happens. The past 8 weeks. It was planned. A pen stroke and a mallet of ire and cruelty in efforts to create a Feudal system. Having survived the foster system I learned much.

He was a week shy of 84. Former students showed up, most of the town. He taught highschool physics because he was bad in chemistry and openly admitted. He got into science because he overslept and didn't make it to club day on time to pick his classes in Highschool. He got put in physics club.

I just wanted to give back the gifts I was given. I was privileged in poor inner city schools because I got an education and support. What cruelty is this? A pen stroke and a temper tantrum and millions get punished. It will never make sense. A few weeks ago a teacher who was like a parent died.

A teacher showed me a trick to use Vicks vapor to trick a migraine away. A teacher let me hide in school when my mother was on a rampage. Most importantly a teacher called me out on my shit. My ego, my self destruction, my inability to see beyond my broken city and family.

A teacher showed me how to use power tools and I was always able to earn a living. When I got side swiped while riding my bike my English teacher saw, pulled over loaded me and my bike to school. The shop teacher helped me straighten my wheel and spokes. They new I earned food money with that bike.

I wanted to change that. I wanted to give in ways I was giving to. If I didn't have teacher intervention as a child and teenager, I wouldn't have made it to age 25. There was absolutely no hope for a future. A teacher read my poetry I tried to hide and told me it was good.

As a foster child I grew up in a chaotic poorly run system in Massachusetts. Made nationally famous for killing Black children and covering it up. I never trusted the system. Bureaucracy is messy and slow, but not a total failure. Reports stated that white millennial men were poorly educated.

I logged into FAFSA today. The agreement between me and the government is now null and void according to the website. 24 years of trying to attend and pay for an education gone with a pen stroke. What pisses me off the most, all the people that sat on their hands who didn't take them seriously.

I learned about the TEACH grant, my dream job was to be an educator. With Roy Cooper and Joe Biden I could finally attend college and earn a bachelor's. I'm in my third year. If I student teach in NC currently, I will be homeless. Student teachers in NC earn 9.50-12.75 an hour. Starvation wage.

Years of working on vehicles my lumber discs were bone on bone, shifting, and pinching my spinal cord. 38k in spinal decompression therapy saved me from paralysis. But not covered under any insurance. I had to retire from turning wrenches and running shops if I wanted to stay upright.

Minimum wage at that time was 5.15 an hour. The shop paid 7.50 an hour and if the boss was generous he might actually pay the legal overtime. Most often he didn't. Over 18 years he robbed my personally 85k in overtime. When I sued I was awarded 5k. At 37 I started losing feeling in parts of my legs.

I made sure they got to school, ate, hair cuts, got to activities. Two entered the military and earned degrees using the GI bill. I worked. The more unstable my mother got the more money I gave her. I started working on cars after getting robbed by mechanics at 19 years old. My first car cost 500.00

I'm 42, I entered the workforce at 13 delivering newspapers. From that point on I paid taxes. I grew up in foster homes, when living at home we starved. My knees and shins didn't grow correctly for an adult due to nutritional deficiencies. At 18 I was working two jobs and raising my three brothers.

At the end of each Presidential term, the Internet Archive archives all the administration's webpages. This is an especially important resource now that Trump is taking all those pages down. They still exist and are accessible on the Internet Archive. blog.archive.org/2025/02/06/u...

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote.

There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP

Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.
@aoc.bsky.social
Please explain what just happened. Is there no way to stop this w the reconciliation to be used by GOP to get around the filibuster? Are we sunk?
