An excellent, informative, and even touching thread on the only #MMO that I ever really played. I started #CoH much later than @mcbiohazard.bsky.social and really appreciated the historical context of the gameplay changes over time. And the coda made new want to enter the world to be a hero again.
City of Heroes was my first proper MMO and as I fired up Homecoming this morning, I thought about how its life and death (and unofficial turned official rebirth) informed what I look for in MMO gaming and how I view game balance, development trends and online communities. Very large thread incoming.
