i appreciate how the psych 101 class i took 2 decades ago, a once a week 3 hour monstrosity on Wednesday evenings, the professor i had got to intelligence and IQ and went on a rant about how fake the whole thing was. That was his field of study and he hated everything about it
IQ is a measure of how good you are at IQ tests, which is something informed by how familiar you are with taking academic tests (& thus the quality of your school, which is in part determined by your parents' wealth, etc). there's nothing in particular that makes them a good test of intelligence

i don't have any updates besides how climbing the tower from Only Up led to finding a bunch of wood people partying and calling me cool, and you know what that was a real self-esteem boost, i appreciated that
