A very interesting video explaining how the US (and in my opinion much of the world, including Canada) isn't nessecarrily going fascist, it's inverted totalitarianism...and that's worse.

The Liberals are the ones in power selling out to the Conservatives.

They are also mocking the federal government for doing nothing to stand up for Canadian rights.

Elections BC fines Chip Wilson $600 for putting up three signs accusing the BC NDP of being "communist," etc. during the fall provincial eleciton

The conversation between Wilson and the Election BC investigator should be a one-act play 😂 #bcpoli elections.bc.ca/docs/amp/Enf...

Thoughts on the NDP leadership contest.
Any leader on the left needs to be able to present a critique of capitalism, at the very least they need to present a critique of neoliberalism, and then provide an alternative.
To me that's the bare minimum

Ugh, anyone that challenges the narrative gets smeared.
I personally don't think Engler is a good fit as leader but Gilmore and many others are being wilfully obtuse about how leadership campaigns work. They also fail to recognize how many rank and file members align with Engler.

the reason right-wingers refuse to assign the same weight to right-wing violence as left-wing violence is that right-wing violence is built into the maintainence of the status quo and left-wing violence is contrary to it.

also that uncalled-for violence is inherently left or madness-coded.

This entire meeting was embarrassing for Canada. I'm actually quite surprised the Liberal party is even promoting it.

Carney seemed to be almost grovelling for Trump's affections and laughing at his "joke" about murdering the Venezuelan fisherman was really brutal to see.

Saskatchewan has more crown corporations than any other province. A bold idea for making life more affordable: public options at every single step of the supply chain that's ripping us off. #cdnpoli #NDP

Ah yes, North Americans and their irrational fear of the word "manifesto".
FYI its an incredibly common term in the rest of the world. Even the Tory party in the UK has a manifesto.

this is a positive article overall but uhh what’s the implication here? that avi lewis’ pro-palestine stance is “flirting with antisemitic tropes” and could “chase away jewish NDP voters” like…his own family? …what?
Palestine, of course, is a challenge for every public figure, and is even a matter of contention on the left. Despite general agreement that Israel is engaged in a “monstrous” and “twisted” campaign to starve, and enslave citizens of the ravaged territory (Lewis’ construction), not all democratic socialists want the issue to override pressing domestic concerns. Energy spent deploring Prime Minister Mark Carney’s spurious equivocation—in the view of leftist critics—is energy that could be directed at escalating grocery prices. And flirting with anti-Semitic tropes would certainly chase away Jewish voters who once formed a significant faction of the NDP (The Lewises among them.)

Yes, there is no space at all between poking the racoon and French kissing the raccoon and laughing as the racoon jokes about murder.

Carney succumbs a little bit with a smile at Trump's fishing boat joke, and then realizes he shouldn't be smiling while trump confesses to murder.

And they havd already been given decades of warning to phase it out and they keep ignoring it.
Ashton seems like a really good guy but he has no policy and no understanding of the root causes of these problems.

If I had any pride left in this country I'd be mortified. Liberals will try to to explain it away but its just plain embarrassing.
