Exactly right, the implicit argument being made by OP is that one group's sensitivities matter more than another's. Fair enough I suppose but maybe make it explicit.
And if we want to reduce it to slogans and semantics (see the whipped-up outrage vis a vis Mamdani and "globalize the intifida"), what does just "Israel has a right to defend itself" mean to millions of Palestinians, Lebanese, Iranians, Yemenis, etc?

They can be tried in US Courts. That's not necessarily the same thing as being "subject to the jurisdiction" of the US for 14A purposes. Equating the two seems to be the error that you're making.
