Full disclosure, I normally like Divine Comedy a bit jauntier than they are on this album, which is elegiac and bittersweet. Inspired, partly, by the death of Neil Hannon’s father.

Here’s another track to give you a bit more of the Magnetic Fields vibes.

I fell quite short of my ‘album a day’ goal of listening to new music, but I still listened to a ton of new stuff in 2025.

Also consider this an open invitation to share your own favorites. I know there’s a lot more Ive missed out on.

Today is all Christmas specials with the kids, but I might put it on when they’re asleep.

This looks good! Love some SOV horror. And it’s on Tubi!

But Nightbreed… I need them to reissue the omnibus. The movie is THE film that activated me as a horror fan.

I have a few of those as well, and a bunch of the Tapping the Vein adaptations of his short stories. I worked at a comic shop when the Great & Secret Show comic was announced, and got them to order enough copies so I could get the signed cover with Clive’s art on it.

Ah! I’ve been looking for a collection of the Nightbreed comics!!!

A near perfect movie. Such delirious fun. It’s mind-boggling to me that its reputation for years (and still a bit today) was that it was a drastic misfire.

How can people not see the pure joy in every frame!?

That’s Gore Verbinski. He made huge tentpole movies that could appear to be IP cash-in’s, but he always stuffed them with more weirdness than any of the other similar films we get today. So glad he’s coming out of movie jail finally.

Oh man, couldn’t disagree more. It’s great on a rewatch, especially when viewed as their ‘last’ film (so far).

It’s the only movie where someone gets the money, it runs the gamut of their catalog, and the final story seems like the ‘harvesters of souls’ are Joel and Ethan’s self-inserts. It’s great

Apparently only one issue remains, and while it’s clear this is heading towards an ending, they’ve also created a world they clearly have years of stories for. Bummed it’s ending but also excited to see them stick the landing.

If you can find the issues, or wait for the GN, highly recommended.
