Ahead of my appearance on Panorama tonight, I was on #PoliticsLive talking about how the government aren’t fixing the housing crisis. They’re ignoring 172k children in temporary accommodation, refusing to address *astronomical rents* & siding with developers (but denying it!)

Anytime someone says some bit of automation could "free up" workers to shift from a menial to a more important task they have conveniently forgotten that we don't have a centrally planned economy. The only mechanism we have for moving workers from one sector to another is compulsion via poverty.

And if you're wondering whether someone getting killed is what it will take for the media and political class to come to their senses, I would just remind you that Jo Cox was murdered in a similar moment of demagoguery and hysteria 9 years ago, and if anything things have got far worse since then.
People’s homes are being stormed by far-right groups. The govt. Is saying nothing about how violence like this will not be tolerated. Where is Starmer’s “law and order” now? They’ve no control and we are moments away from someone being killed. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

also, just to engage in a bit of casually inflammatory discourse, corbyn presided over the start of the transphobic turn in the labour party. the 2019 manifesto included transphobic talking points about protecting single-sex spaces. i think his position on trans rights is already pretty clear.
