The fact that MS is trying to establish excuses should tell you all you need to know; that they understand their actions are unconscionable, and very likely illegal in many countries, and they want to try and establish the narrative since they can't deny their complicity.
Just to remind people as Microsoft tries to establish its own narrative and games news picks up on it: The AP, Guardian, Dropsite, and others found thru leaks Microsoft tech and consulting has been used during the siege on Gaza for mass surveillance. Some uses are unknown due to air gapped devices.
