@mrjamesob.bsky.social We should be talking about Universal Basic Income. This country is a wealthy nation. It can afford to do this. It also puts the power back into the hands of its citizens. There are very few downsides. Mostly the super wealthy whose control on resources will diminish.

We need a Universal/Unconditional Basic Income scheme on a global level, so those who actually generate the wealth are rightfully rewarded for their work

🥗 Poverty is caused by math: income < cost of basic needs. That’s it. But poverty-related assistance programs are designed with the mindset that poverty is caused by behavior and bad decisions. All the bad policy design flows from that false assumption.
