These two DDR5 sticks (mediocre ones at that) cost me €129 ($150) when I bought them 3 years ago. These same sticks are worth €390 ($453) today.

Coolest ASAT on Earth. The kill vehicle from this program directly led to the ASM-135. The Vought KKV for this program was later reused (with few changes) on the ASM-135.

This figure is big on paper but the Danish gov can gain back this amount by literally just abolishing a single public holiday. This is a government running a budget surplus that is malding over less than $1B in spending per year. When looked at more broadly the costs are miniscule.

In the case of Denmark, one of the papers from the state showed the annual "net" negative spending on the highest population of foreign born members in Denmark (Turks, about 68k of them) was an average cost of 45-47k DK or roughly $6.2k per person per year ($420M a year).

The bit about the US producing the most amount of crude oil by any nation at any point in history is mind blowing in the face of all of this shit.
January 6, 2026 at 5:06 AM
The US has been the top global producer and exporter of crude oil, LNG and other petroleum products for many years now. (This is not necessarily a good thing for the environment) Nonetheless, this is why experts in this area are so confused by the nakedly imperialistic justifications of this Admin.

it is funny that I played the most when I had work (Dec 2024 till May 2025) and started playing less when I my summer break started (Jul-Aug).

This whole saga started back in 2023 when I told Konrad I had nothing against Merchant Mariners (they are indeed valuable people who do a tremendous amount of work) and he decided to pivot hard into this being some kind of underhanded antisemitism. His response was insane:

Can't wait for the USN to retire the CVNs for 5,000 of these painted gold.

All this talk about strengthening the atrophy in the shipbuilding industrial followed by cancelation of major shipbuilding programs that are sustaining whatever dwindling number of shipyards the US has left.
November 25, 2025 at 11:15 PM
F/A-XX in shambles, Connie canceled, LSM/LAW stuck in perpetual torment, SM-6 production in shambles, F-35C buys at lowest rates, F/A-18E/F line being terminated, DDG(X) sent to the indeterminate future. The US Navy's century of Burkiliation is here. Arleigh-Burkes now and forever.
November 25, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Why?
November 25, 2025 at 10:53 PM
For reference, the prior highest design completion for a vessel in the US Navy at construction was the Zumwalt at 80%. The now "successful" Arleigh-Burke class destroyers started construction at 20% design completion and LCS vessels at 25%.
November 25, 2025 at 10:06 PM
One of the supposedly biggest crimes committed in this program was the fact that elements of the design were not 90-95% done when construction began. Congress used this as a reason to withhold funds:
