As long as you’re exporting hydrocarbons that are going to be combusted somewhere, the ability to “decarbonize” it is limited. You could, presumably, decarbonize production, which isn’t insignificant - it’s about 30% of all Canadian emissions - but the C in that oil is still ending up in the air.

Sometimes, I feel like everything is garbage & I get overwhelmed but then I imagine how I'd feel if I was a raccoon and suddenly, being surrounded by garbage isn't so bad. In fact, by raccoon standards, being surrounded by garbage is actually great. Life is about perspective.
