This is the kind of thing that the Founders explicitly designed our constitution to prevent; a president who has seized wealth for his own benefit without any intervention from Congress, which in our system is supposed to be the holder of the power of the purse.

I get it. Like Slavery, dying in ICE custody or a mom being denied an abortion and dying in child birth is "political" and "violent" but not "political violence". No need to question the morality of the nation when that happens. But a Neo-Nazi getting shot, we have to reflect as a nation.

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.
