The only way the vice president is correct is if the Constitution only gave citizens the right to due process (he should read it again— it applies to people, not citizens) or if you don’t think about non-citizens as people at all. That’s the ugly reality of his view here.
The VP seems to suggest a suspension of due process rights to tackle illegal immigration. This would be in line with El Salvador’s Bukele but not the U.S. Supreme Court

What happens if a president and the federal government fail to follow a judge's orders?
The judge overseeing the case of a man mistakenly sent to a Salvadoran prison has warned the Trump administration that contempt proceedings are possible.

You cannot legally send Americans to an El Salvadorian prison no matter what they have done.

Plain and simple.

What’s interesting about the Oval Office fiasco is that it was Trump who repeatedly claimed during the campaign that he would end the war in ‘24 hours’ and that he was a master negotiator.

Did the guy sulking, then berating Zelensky, then kicking him out, look or sound like a master negotiator?

No amount of money or power is worth going on national television and calling Donald Trump “Daddy.” I would spontaneously combust from embarrassment. I could never show my face in public again. I would exile myself in the Himalayas bruh this is flabbergasting

Teachers. Firefighters. Cops. After 44 years of Reagan’s cuts to their Social Security, Joe Biden just restored their benefits. This win for working people came thanks to unions, President Biden, and bipartisan support led by former Rep. Abigail Spanberger.
Last night, President Biden signed the Social Security Fairness Act, the biggest expansion of Social Security in decades and a huge win for teachers, firefighters, and cops!

Next up we expand benefits for everyone and pay for it by making the ultra-wealthy pay the same rate as the rest of us.

College freshman today were 6 years old in the 2012 election.

A student of mine (age 20) told me after class that he appreciates when I explain how US politics and media were different before, because the Trump era is all he’s seen.

This is what young Americans think politics is. It’s normal now.
I think that folks aren't seriously thinking about the implications of young adults who know nothing other than a country which has normalized MAGA politics, God help us all.
