Maybe it's time to recognize that America has *always* functioned from this model of a caste system using violence to assert power. The fantasy that this was 'all in the past' and 'it's just a few bad apples' has blown up in our faces. We see the truth now, and it's ugly.

I'm convinced the Civil War NEVER ENDED. We've been conditioned to believe that this country has learned from our mistakes, and we only identify the few bad apples when the -isms pop up. This admin has revealed the ugly truth of a large percentage of American ideology. We do agree on one thing.
