Seems ridiculous, but it's not a joke. One more step from the dictatorial playbook of the US right wing's favorite authoritarian: Hungary's Viktor Orban, who has used control of the arts as one of his tools for controlling national narrative and suppressing dissent www.npr.org/2022/03/21/1...
In Hungary, the arts are being suppressed by the government, a new report says
The Artistic Freedom Initiative contends that consolidated state power under right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and artists' self-censorship has led to an "existential crisis."

Wired’s coverage these last two weeks has been exceptional. Truly the best kind of reporting. A worthy place for your subscription dollars.
DOGE operative Marko Elez got the ability to alter US Treasury payment system code on Feb 1, WIRED's sources say.

For days, Trump officials fed members of Congress and the press a different story.

Elez is out now for posts reading "I was racist before it was cool" and "normalize Indian hate."
The US Treasury Claimed DOGE Technologist Didn’t Have ‘Write Access’ When He Actually Did
Sources tell WIRED that the ability of DOGE's Marko Elez to alter code controlling trillions in federal spending was rescinded days after US Treasury and White House officials said it didn't exist.

Elon Musk reportedly sleeps in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House. His minions, also at DOGE HQ, received delivery of "sleep pods". They are reportedly adopting Musk's practice of office-based sleeping arrangements. 1650 17th Street, NW--that's where your protests must be.

The rape kit was intended to help survivors bring their assailants to justice. Paradoxically, it’s become a symbol of systemic indifference.
The Frustrated Promise of the Rape Kit
Standardized forensic exams are a useful tool for sexual-violence investigations—or they would be if police departments consistently tested their findings.

lol, "vetting"
A teen DOGE staffer recently given access to government systems worked at a startup known for hiring convicted hackers. Someone using a Telegram handle associated with him also solicited a cyberattack-for-hire service in 2022. All raising questions about his vetting. www.wired.com/story/edward...
DOGE Teen Owns ‘Tesla.Sexy LLC’ and Worked at Startup That Has Hired Convicted Hackers
Experts question whether Edward Coristine, a DOGE staffer who has gone by “Big Balls” online, would pass the background check typically required for access to sensitive US government systems.

DOGE staffer Marko Elez was linked to a now-deleted X account that advocated repealing the Civil Rights Act, backed a “eugenic immigration policy,” & wrote, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity." Elez has just resigned. However he already had access to the Treasury Dept database..

Apparently, our youth are being taught that the only thing they can vote on is presidential candidates, and they feel discouraged to do this because only the electoral college votes count anyhow? If this is true, I fear this will have devastating consequences.

Call them, follow the prompts that apply to you, and simply say that you want Elon Musk removed, stopped, and detained. Literally takes a couple of minutes.

Flood their phones now. Remember, you have three Congresspersons: two Senators and a Representative.
