"You crashed my party in your rental car...you'll slide into inboxes and slip through the bars, and you deserve prison but you wont get time" Then you retreated back to Florida with your in-laws at Mar-a-Lago, but for that whole summer, we felt so Gatsby.
They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.

highlight of this week was meeting two online friends IRL, and after years of shouting "BE MY FRIEND" to @sarahkendzior.bsky.social thru the ether, I got to tell her properly how grateful I am for her work as someone who studied history (and unfortunately graduated right before the last Recession).

Q to @sarahkendzior.bsky.social at PDX book signing for Last American Road Trip: With the wealth inequality insulating the upper class worse than the Gilded Age, as well as the moat of the media surrounding them, how do we level the playing the field/close the gap?

A: "Blame upwards."

I know, I know. With all the solar activity we've seen so far this solar cycle 25, and knowing that solar cycle 23 was reaching its peak february 2001, you know when Seattle experienced the Nisqually earthquake, I just am feeling something this March and April. It doesn't hurt to be prepared.

I'm sitting down now to watch the "Future of FEMA: Perspectives from the Emergency Management Community" hearing which was held yesterday by the Emergency Management and Technology subcommittee so I'll post some thoughts as I go along.

Washington State has had 9 earthquakes in a week and a half. I was in the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, and it left a mark that makes me yell about preparedness this time of year.

Washington State encourages residents to be TWO WEEKS READY in an emergency. Do it.

I made a joke to my grandma about how I'm not even sure I was meant to incarnate here, and she agreed with me! She said, "You're probably right, because when you first came out you had this serious face studying everything intently like 'What even is this place?'"

Watched The Gorge and ~30min I say aloud "This soundtrack ROCKS!" Back in my livejournal era I participated in an Original Soundtrack page. Original scores are harder to find these days especially with full orchestration. And, of course #thegorge is by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Fuckin' ROCKS

Don't spend money on acts at bad venues. For example, I've never seen any show I enjoyed the experience of at WaMu Theater in Seattle. Ok, maybe the AFROJACK set at Jingle Bell Bash 2012 (lineup: Owl City, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris, 3Oh!3). I love concerts and with how expensive: venue is key.

I feel proud to be a tarot reader that openly talks about our present fascism. On every level: physically, mentally, economically, and emotionally, it's point is to wear you down.

Preorder secured! Support your local independent book store and grab a copy. All of Kendzior’s books have withstood time (unfortunately fortunate), and this one is sure to be a time capsule of understanding the convergence of where we are in history.

As Toni Morrison said,

"Goodness is... more interesting, more complicated, more demanding, less predictable, more adventuresome than its opposite. Evil really is boring. Sensational, perhaps, but not interesting. A low-level activity..."

After this winter storm on the Gulf Coast, I can already tell you the die off of flora is going to be brutal to see.

Have never seen anything by David Lynch and yet had a super vivid dream about him this past weekend. We went to a remote Norwegian themed folk cabin where it had an uncanny feeling that we were being watched. There were animatronic characters, and a Winchester-like layout.

Since that full moon in cancer strange dreams involving water, people from my past who have no presence now, and even strange allusions to blood and my Norwegian heritage.

The hardest part of collapse is being unable to share the weight of your grief. The endurance. The compassion. The desperation for peace.

Arduous. The magnitude of it all, I know all yall feel it too.

Most underrated style of beer is a Cascadian Dark Ale or a White IPA.

Most overrated HAZY IPA and any lactose.

What radicalised me? The opening number of A Muppet Christmas Carol, in which a rich man’s crimes of profiteering against the poor are clearly laid out and any arguments for sympathising with him are presented and immediately rejected.
a bunch of stuffed animals are laying in a pile of hay with the words `` no cheeses for us meeces '' above them
Alt: Victorian era Muppet mice singing “no cheeses for us meeces.” Their rent is very high, leaving them no money for cheeses.
