Who to trust? Experts in the US/UK on US/UK subs OR those in Defence who bought us $4B in unfinished French subs, a >$15B price increase in frigates, $5B in failed MRH-90 & Tiger helicopters, $1.5B in failed Spartan aircraft and much more waste🤦‍♂️. #AUKUS
Turns Out the UK AUKUS Submarines Are Just as Unviable as the US Subs
While millions of Australians are suffering through a cost of living crisis, the federal government is spending billions on a submarine deal described as “unachievable”.

Absolute 🔥 from Lambie here.
$28 million for Macquarie Harbour "to help salmon companies that are foreign-owned, been making a mincer out of us for years & years & years...their profits are huge & yet, they haven't paid any tax for 3 years.

Why aren't they cleaning up their own mess?"

Imagine the collective salaries of these people all took, to cover up this always heinous & illegal scheme.

I bet they never once “turned their minds” from that.

This whole coverup shows all Australians that the duopoly is now no more than a last grasp at the fading colonial relic state.

This really is quite extraordinary.

Dreyfus should have grabbed him on the way out of the committee room and sacked him on the spot.

But then Dreyfus was the one who thought him a great pick.

if you’re a #labor or #coalition supporter, i’ll understand if you want to avoid eye contact today…

the 2 major parties are ramming through a set of anti-democratic changes to the fundamental settings of our democracy…

Again it’s worth asking: who asked for this?
For a govt always banging on about focusing on the cost of living (but doing little), or not having an electoral mandate to do something, how do they justify this? The public never asked for it, never would.

While the major parties say the electoral reform bill aims to take ‘Big Money’ out of elections, what they forget to tell you is how much they are also planning to pay themselves in ‘administration costs’.

Not a single person has been held accountable for the decades of child abuse committed at Ashley Youth Detention Centre in Tas. Years after the Liberal govt promised to close it: nothing.
Thanks, Senator Lambie, because federal attention might be the only thing that brings accountability. #politas

Good reminder. Complainants in pending trials aren’t helped by social media discussion about alleged perpetrators. Whether you like that part of our law or not, it’s the law. For justice to be done, for all involved, people reflecting on guilt/innocence in a public forum is so irresponsible.
It is true that the sub judice contempt rule needs to be reformed as it is out of step with modern digital reality, however in the meantime the best way to ensure Alan Jones gets a trial at all (let alone a fair one) is to shut up about the criminal charges against him.

If the Govt’s intention is to protect children from gambling ads, then they wouldn’t allow them at times when we know young people are watching.

At this point, it seems doubtful the Govt will do anything at all before the election.

It costs half a million dollars a year to keep a child in prison.

94% of them will go back to prison before they turn 18

Divert that to prevention & let’s see what happens. You would only need a 6% success rate and $500k per child per year to achieve it.
