In the creative industries/the media and want to mentor? @artsemergency.bsky.social is looking for enthusiastic professionals
Although we have lots of great potential mentors, we are still short of applicants in the Merseyside region and we could do with more applicants in London working in the following career areas:

- Gaming and animation
- Fashion design
- Broadcast journalism
- Visual arts: illustrators / people with illustration experience or any experience relevant to character design
- Performing arts: musical theatre performers or people with experience in the musical theatre industry
- Film & TV - on screen
- Architecture and interior design

The new High Wire Act song is up on YouTube too.

The mighty Mike Orvis did all the drumming. I can be blamed for all the other noises.

Minute Song 4 - Growl and Snarl. I've been enjoying writing these very short songs, so here's number 4. Includes me trying to play guitar with a violin now.

There have been a few examples in recent years of fans not knowing the difference between bad booking and a heel doing their job well. It's been weird.

"I hate this guy"

Yeah, that's the idea.

I continue blogging. This gig diary rounds off the story that started off with the demon from Watford and continued with the anthropomorphic insectoid biker Praying Mantis Dave. Links to those episodes are included.

Gig diaries – The Fiddler’s Elbow
I’ve decided to revisit some of my gig diaries. You may have heard or read this story before on podcast or something, but this is the first time it has been on this blog. This is part 3 or a …

Why don't these politicians like the countries they want to run?

I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

I have more recently listened to Oasis and learned, unsurprisingly, that they had some really good songs.

More surprisingly I learned their macho image is completely at odds with the music which is no more aggressive than the Monkees

I have never seen a whole episode of Friends. I saw a few scenes before switching off. In fact that experience is why I have never watched an American sitcom that wasn't animated.

I also didn't really hear a lot of Britpop. cos I was a metalhead and Britpop is what the football fans liked.

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Why make me go in to an office to half-arse my 'job' when I could instead stay in my studio and half-arse recording a self-indulgent rock song?

Don't they know I'm an artist?

Not an artist with much of a following or anything. I have about 40 fans. But it's still art! I shouldn't need to work!

I had to leave the house before 8am today. Apparently I 'signed a contract' and have to go to 'work'.

Total bullshit. Who arranged things this way?

That's just unseemly.

If it is Sunday, what happened to Saturday? Are you telling me I magically went from going to the pub on Friday evening to waking up on Sunday in my back garden with a splitting head ache, covered in cold curry sauce and apparently having lost my keys?
