during the Bush years, when empathy was at an all time low and I had no hope. Hate was so normalized

If you see a cool person online, why not say hello? Worst case, they'll ignore you. Best case, you'll make a friend. Try to make social media social again.

Modern social media is more about numbers than individual interactions. I can't remember the last time I made a friend on a modern platform, and yet, I can remember things from those early 2010s chatrooms and forums like it was yesterday. And many of the people I met I still talk to today.

Today I was asked why I still burn my anime on DVDs. Simple --- doing the DVDs is half the fun!! Isn't the process worth a little extra effort? 🤔 (Image unrelated I just wanted to add one.)

Okay, real talk:
A lot of people say "I'm sorry that's happening" as a way to express empathy. Lately a lot of people respond to this with "not your fault" and I just want it out there on the record that I don't believe that reaction understands the point of empathy.

Genuinely hate being asked what I want for Christmas.
The answer was games 2 years ago, games last year and is games this year.
