makes me think of Looker in the original Outsiders run and how they barely casually offmention that Looker had suffered from chronic fatigue and pain before she was transformed into Looker. It gets masked over by beauty standards and body dysphoria, but like, they spend zero time exploring her pain

To me, the filmreel bumpers were peak Disney. A very distinctive set of bumpers that were used across countless releases and labels, yet still evoked Disney. One of the reasons I made my own compilation of them:

I have this screenshot saved because on the day it was posted my father was literally watching episodes of "Highlander: The Raven" on Tubi and it was the funniest timing I've ever seen

"The best version the alleged rightsholder has" should be Tubi's motto.

Tubi is a near perfect simulation of the feeling of watching the 3am movie on your area's fourth-rated local TV station.

For this alone it is the greatest streaming service that has ever been or will ever be.

i like that there is no conceivable attempt to frontload stuff that people have heard of. you can scroll past two dozen shot-on-video brian bosworth movies before you hit like lawrence of arabia

Tubi is the best streaming service hands down. The only place where you can watch genuine old weird crap and it's free. I'm watching Celebrity Bowling (1975)

I'm also just now learning that Saban and Fox Kids were, at some point, originally going to produce a dub of SLAYERS for American kids, but backed out when they realized how much editing they'd have to do?! There's a universe where that happened and meanwhile 4Kids didn't dub One Piece.
