A damn fine book. Jump on it. Tim’s Slow Readers Club highly recommends 👍👍
No one ever tells me these things, so I just discovered that the Kindle ebook of first Coop heist novel, THE EVERYTHING BOX, is on sale for a lousy $.99. You can't even buy a three-legged hamster for $.99, so get a bunch of my books instead. 🐹

Tim’s Slow Readers Club moves on. Who is Government - The Untold Story of Public Service, edited by Michael Lewis is a series of essays on government workers. I’m not an unbiased observer here. The book is great. It will make you laugh and cry (especially the last story. 👍👍

Another tune on the program is a rare replay from last year’s concert. Russian Christmas Music storms into the hall and demands to be heard! 😉

The Third Thursday Lecture Series
Just a gentle reminder that there will be no presentation or the month of December, but we are excited to return in January with all new topics on the history of New Orleans. Please spread the word to those in your circle interested in history.

So, what else do we usually play at our Holiday Concerts?

Medleys, Medleys, MEDLEYS!!!
You like a holiday tune, chances are you’ll hear it between these three. 😉

Tim’s Slow Readers list rolls on. The anniversary of the execution of Ney reminded me i just finished @bri74.bsky.social ‘s Marshal Ney - Fall from Glory. Lots of tidbits I didn’t know. Ney’s always the right guy in the right place, or the worst guy at the wrong time, with little in-between. 👍👍

What else is on the program Sunday, 12/14 at 1pm? It’s just a basic song called Major Van Orden March.

Next reveal for our 50th annual holiday concert, selections from Leonard Bernstein’s tour de force, Mass. Premiered in 1971 at the Kennedy Center, the medley of songs springs from Bernstein’s interpretation of the Tridentine Mass of the Catholic Church.

First up on the erratic highlights of our Sunday 12/14 Concert, the warhorse of our 50 years of holiday concerts, Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival!

The story goes Arthur Fiedler asked Anderson to come up with something for the Boston Pops Christmas album in 1950.

It’s that time I remember I have to actually tell people I sell prints, and since it’s the season, I’d suggest one of the snow shots from earlier this year.

Once again, I have to advise that you find your local high school and attend their winter choir and/or band concerts. They are inexpensive, the performers are INVESTED, and it’s a really lovely way to build connections in your community.

Does anyone in Western Washington have an electric piano with weighted keys that they no longer use and would be willing to give away?

I have a ten year old ADHD kid whose heart is set on one for Christmas but it's not in our budget this year.
