But the people in charge of searching for lost hikers say the feature is going to exacerbate an issue they’ve been warning about for years: hiking apps providing false information."

A bear wondering in the mud flats by the Shoreline Trail in Pt Moody. The fantastic new boardwalk enabled us to safely watch it. Need more infrastructure like this all around BC that respects nature.

“Vehicles with higher, more vertical front ends pose greater risk to pedestrians. Vehicles with especially tall front ends are most dangerous to pedestrians, but a blunt profile makes medium-height vehicles deadly too.”

Deadly by design. And they know it.

Evergreens are great at protecting paths and sidewalks from snow and ice without using environmentally harmful salt and costly plowing. Restoring evergreen forests (or at least planting a row of them) around paths is a GREAT nature based solution. Also protects from the sun and heat.
Path at Kits beach. The path is covered with snow except for the section under the large evergreen tree.

Trump's attack on Canada is not about fentanyl or the border. It is an attack on our nationhood.
But here's the thing: Trump is America's biggest disadvantage because he divides.
But he is unifying our nation like never before.

Celebrated annually on February 2, #WorldWetlandsDay provides an opportunity for gratefulness and awareness.

Wetlands are unique environments that connect watersheds; they carry a big responsibility and are vital for biodiversity, climate resilience, and sustainable economies.

We’re absolutely thrilled to see one of our own, @lucymaloney.bsky.social, running for Vancouver city council! The election is April 5th. Lucy has been an awesome Vision Zero Vancouver volunteer, continuously pushing for safer streets, and we know she’ll bring that same passion to City Hall.
