a bunch of government goons from ICE/HSI showed up to an elementary school in DC this morning and tried to detain a staff member in the parking lot but the person's colleagues intervened and stopped it and let that be a reminder to all of us that we can do that

so a thing…i got an email this week asking me to speak on a podcast.

they were “particularly interested in my experiences as a trans woman” in tech.

chat i’m not trans, have never claimed to be. what i am is Black and 6ft tall and for those reasons, have been assumed to be trans quite frequently.

Questions need to be asked of the Irish HSE service as to why they support[ed] the discredited UK Cass Review. It has now been rejected by every major expert healthcare body of note, globally. Sinn Féin & the Alliance have serious questions to answer, in particular.
1. Major news in transgender care.

Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines.

They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the
Cass Review in England.

Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care.

The recommendations, released by the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany, come at a time when US politicians erroneously claim that Europe is "pulling back" on transgender care.

I'd go a lil' further.

The main tech disruptions have been Netflix, Spotify, Uber and Deliveroo?

Now nobody can make shows, musicians can't live from royalties, taxi drivers are debt laden, restaurants have to jack their prices and ghost kitchens mean you don't know where your food came from.
Gonna let you in on a little secret here, but most people don't want to see the thing they use disrupted, it's kinda offputting. PC gaming in particular has an in-built skepticism of new storefronts/services because of stuff like Desura and Games for Windows Live, as opposed to what works.
Amazon's previous VP of Prime Gaming said they "tried everything" to disrupt Steam

strongly agreed with Cara. some of y'all talk like you have hidden a spare population of unproblematic, unpropagandized people to build a mass movement out of under your couch cushions or something.
It reminds me of my first labor organizing job when my trainer said "The thing that's different about labor is that you just have to organize who's here" and to some extent, the older I get, the more I realize that's true everywhere.

I have a confession to make: I made a wish to have a transwoman nominated for best actress. I thought it would be great during this current climate. I did use a monkey’s paw to do it but I’m sure the side effects from it won’t be too bad.

Chicago's "know your rights" campaign is working and keeping more people out of detention than otherwise. These people can be opposed, can be fought, and can be stopped. So we have to oppose, fight, and stop them.

Trump’s Border Czar Whines That Many Immigrants Are Smarter Than ICE
Tom Homan is upset that ICE’s raids in Chicago aren’t as bad as they could be because many people know their rights.
