Murphy: "The reality is this could get dystopian very quickly. If you were to start speaking ill of Elon Musk on social media, Musk might be able to stop or delay your tax refund, or your mom's Social Security benefit, in part because we have no window into what's happening at Treasury right now."

BREAKING: Elon Musk is now hacking into Americans’ health insurance records. He’s snooping around CMS, looking for ways to gut your family’s benefits—because he thinks he gets to decide what’s “fraud.” This is an invasion of privacy at the highest level.

Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).

This whole effort was brazenly illegal. From the big picture down to innumerable individual acts. But even if course was shifted now, which is basically unimaginable, Musk likely has already essentially destroyed the organization. Under the best circs will take years or decades to rebuild.
USAID’s website has been deleted, all that is left is a note saying all personnel are now on administrative leave and personnel outside the US are to be brought home. Completely illegal, no act of congress or even executive order was signed to dismantle the agency

so we're going to annex gaza, greenland and canada, take the panama canal, possibly invade mexico at the same time we're going to close all of our federal offices, cancel all of our military contracts and launch a future trade war against the entire north american continent

Do you have any idea how many thousands of troops it would take to occupy Gaza permanently? This is fucking insane.
REPORTER: You are talking tonight about the US taking over a sovereign territory. What authority would allow you to do that? Are you talking about a permanent occupation?

That is exactly the kind of leadership we need in this moment of constitutional crisis. Thank you, Senator Murphy!

Elon Musk said he and Trump want to shut down the agency because of its purportedly “radical” work, but the controversy seems mired in partisan politics.
