I distinctly remember owning these, among others (thank you Columbia House record club for your inability to track how many times we took the intro order).

Finished: first book of 2026, "Angel Maker."

The always indomitable Karen Memery, along with her partner and wife, Priya, find themselves involved in the movie business, and boy is it murder. Weird west and steampunk shenanigans galore in a twisty mystery, with lots of loving horse details.

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate!

Today I will switch banks. Should have quit Bank of America ages ago, but inertia.

Now they are sponsoring Bari "Goebbels" Weiss' CBS propaganda show (starring Bari Weiss, the main character in every story she tells). Definitely time to change.

I'm trying my best not to fund fascism.

Jury found the guy who towed the ICE vehicle not guilty. Lex Luthor Miller had a melt down about it.

What he failed to note: the jury DID operate from a "shared system of interests and values." It's a system that stands directly opposed to the corrupt fascist cabal in the white house.

The gift exchange on solstice morn has occurred. And I have much reading to do in the new year. Very happy.

We've made it folks. We've reached the bleak midwinter. From here forward, the days begin to grow longer second by second. There's much snow and cold ahead, but hope... there is hope, too, on this day.

The world begins anew.

May your Solstice be one of quiet peace this year.

My IT team does a yearly team building based around a theme. I haven't minded in the past, I actually like where I work and the team building isn't as bad as some other jobs.

Until now.

This year's theme: Fellowship of the AI

I foresee much AI ruination of some of my favorite stories.

Donnie is the end they've been striving for since Ronnie took office. Ditching the levers of control that make a functioning democracy work well for unregulated capitalism, unfettered fascism, and the enshittification of the world in the name of profits.

Gen-X (men especially) said "yes, that!"

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel/DC, Disney Animated or Pixar/Dreamworks.

Better than yesterday morning when, in the dark, I stepped in cat yuck, my foot slipped three feet, and I nearly took a header (thank goodness I was wearing slippers). Then of course had to clean that up before I could even get some coffee.

Cats is evil.

We're closing out our Free Fiction Fridays for issue 5.

Next up: Issue 6 is on deck for its December 1st release!

Look for Free Fiction Fridays to return on December 5th with a brilliant fairy-tale retelling from @bernie-jsyk.bsky.social, "Have I Ever Told You About When We Were Eaten?"

On second thought, perhaps I should NOT have gotten triple vaccinated (COVID, pneumonia, shingles) on Wednesday. But hey, you know what they say...
