That's right, you all get another tale of Fox and Troll, the two greatest thieves in all of Rookdrift. If you're looking for ANYTHING else to do besides watching the dumpster burn, this cozy adventure might be your ticket.
Sisu Review:

The Good: many dead Nazis; the dog lives; creative action scenes; Finnish.

The Bad: often over-the-top; the man survives massive bodily abuse in often implausible scenarios.

Final Thought: it's bloody good fun, if you don't mind violence/gore. 7 out of 10 Reynolds' Wraps.
Oh yes. Watching it now. It’s on the Roku channel. If anyone uses a Roku like I do.
Personal Me: for NO REASON whatsoever, I’m hearing this is a very cathartic movie to watch right now. TW for violence, but I think this helpful graphic covers it.

Hey, if you've got any friends or acquaintances who are currently on 'the police should protect us from ICE' but might still be reachable, and you want to use fiction, I've got a story about police disarmament/abolition and how ICE, police, prisons, borders, etc. is all one abolition fight.

Epic Games CEO trying to mansplain why CSAM on X is fine and any attempt to ban it because X doesn't want to be bothered to stop it is "censorship."

Hey, numb nut, if LLM tools "always go off the rails," then they will need to be BANNED. ALL of them. This is sick.

Boycott this Nazi's company.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney argues banning Twitter over its ability to AI-generate pornographic images of minors is just 'gatekeepers' attempting to 'censor all of their political opponents'

It’s been said before, but I somehow thought full dystopia would not involve a day job, rent, and cleaning my floors. The banality of societal collapse feels quite disempowering. Keep fighting folks, even when it’s an add-on to your already busy day.

Some AI pieces we get are just so obviously, laughably AI.

Am I going to tell you how? No, that would spoil the fun and give people updates on how to avoid some of their tells. But frankly these aren't folks who give a crap to try and hide it either.

Today's short fiction read: "The Death of Demons" by Brandon Case in Trollbreath; a rather charming little story that starts out as "retired adventurer regales the tavern with stories" but quickly grows beyond those borders.

Hell yes, I filled it out, and told them I didn't want ANY of these LLM products jammed into Discord.

I have some doubts they'll pay attention to the survey, though. I've yet to see a company listen to its consumers when this bullshit is being pushed by management.

Oh, and I'll have a story coming out very soon in an anthology! Can't wait to share that with everyone. This particular story was submitted 43 times before it was purchased.

Winning as an introvert: sending an email explaining why I changed my mind and will NOT be managing the equipment at a local org's zoom meeting next week, and not even making up excuses (I thought they were drafting my knowledge for a tech planning committee, not as tech support).

Welcome to this week's Free Fiction Friday!

This week we have Brandon Case with a love letter to the sword and sorcery genre, one that comes with a fizzing heart of honor and love that drew us in and held us close. All good stories begin at an inn....

I just realized all the Terminator movies are just "Friday the 13th but futuristic instead of supernatural" and now I can't get it out of my head.

On the other hand, when are we going to get the "Jason vs. Terminator" cross over the world is absolutely (not) demanding?

Good thread summation of a whacked the FUCK out article. The people who have caused society to disassociate from each other due to the tech wasteland they themselves created think you can fix relationship problems with... more tech. And in the cringiest - sometimes racist/classist - ways.
If you made a Venn diagram of every weird person I knew in Silicon Valley during the first dot-com boom, centrifuged it, extracted the pellet, and re-suspended it in high-proof eugenics with a splash of AI, you'd end up with something like this.

It'll take a strong stomach to read this "gift" link.
