Hoiho, the yellow eyed penguin, are a survivor - considered by some scientists to be the most ancient of all living penguin species.

I never met a hoiho but I would like the chance one day - if the government banned commercial set nets in hoiho habitat it would also protect other species and the whole ecosystem
Hoiho, the yellow eyed penguin, is one of the rarest penguins in the world and found only in Aotearoa.

But the northern population of hoiho is collapsing - by 80 percent since 2008.

Use our easy online tool to make a submission to call for zero bycatch of endangered hoiho:
Speak up for hoiho! Make a personal submission today

What happens when a Fossil Fuel CEO calls up WINZ, versus when an everyday NZ'er finally gets through after spending 3 days on hold?

This Government has cooked the books. Instead of helping out as the cost of living bites, they're handing cash straight over to billion dollar oil companies.

another reason to give feedback to the Ministry for the Environment right now - we don't want industries to write the legislation!
1/ The latest from Luxon’s War on Nature is a proposal to make it easier for mining corporations to bulldoze NZ's most fragile and precious ecosystems. And the mining industry didn’t just get a seat at the table - they basically got given the pen to re-write the mining rulebook.

I know we have submission overload but this is a chance to speak up to support New Zealand's quite good freshwater legal protections
🧵 The Luxon Government's “freshwater pollution plan” is here. Their proposals would scrap protections for lakes, rivers and drinking water, all to make it easier for corporate polluters to make a profit. Here’s what's been proposed:
