Trump has transformed the justice system into a Putin-style autocratic protection racket. The wealthy are not audited or investigated, if convicted they are pardoned. Political opponents are targeted. Unidentified masked agents grab people off the street, and protesters are shot.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

A large bluish interpretive panel explaining the different research equipment deployed by the MV Namao. It features the large blue and white ship in the top quarter of the panel floating on the water next to a yellow weather buoy. Below the water are a fish trawl with small fish around it, a white, conical zooplankton net, and a ponar dredge reaching down to grab invertebrates from the bottom. It has also deployed a black and white secchi disk and a sampling rosette made up of long, grey bottles. It also features a bottom mooring that is attached to a float on the surface and consists of a metal tripod on the lake bottom with different instruments mounted on it. All of these tools are used to monitor lake Winnipeg. The ship was built in 1975 and became a dedicated research vessel in 2001. It is now owned and operated by the Lake Winnipeg Research Consortium. A digital painting of a showy lady slipper - a large pink and white slipper-shaped orchid with large, deep green leaves. A coloured pencil drawing of a yellow and grey magnolia warbler on a saskatoon branch with white blossoms. It was created during a class I was teaching on how to draw songbirds. An illustrated interpretive panel made up of two parts. The two 4/5th is an illustration of the different underwater zones of the Assiniboine river and the animals that live there. The littoral zone is on the left where the river meets the shore and is home to leopard frogs, northern pike, pearch and Johnny Darters. Riffles are where the water is stirred up around rocks and it home to longnose dace and rock bass. The pelagic zone is to the right in the middle of the river and is home to channel catfish, walleye, emerald shiner, with phyto and zooplankton on the surface. Below all of this is the benthic zone along the river bottom where mayfly nymphs, tubeworms, burbot and maple leaf mussels live. The last 1/5 of the panel tells the story of how the lake sturgeon was reintroduced to the Assiniboine River in the late 1990s and early 2000s helping the population bounce back.

The excuse can't be a lack of access to scores, as all the West Indies men's regional games and boys/youth internationals that are added to the ESPNcricinfo database are presented in precisely the same way as these women's games - with livestreams on the Windies YouTube & live scores on their site.

Worth noting that ESPNcricinfo don't routinely carry scores this or the Women's Super 50. They did so in the 2012, 2013 & 2023 seasons, but no others.

Given they do cover WI men's regionals & men's U19 games in the Caribbean, can only assume it's an active choice not to cover the women's.
