ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

I didn’t get fired up over Mikie Sherrill but obviously I went out and voted and thank god Jack Ciattarelli didn’t win, man.

Cheers to NYC, though. That’s something to be excited about for real.

ARC Raiders Review: This Is the Best Extraction Shooter I've Ever Played
Embark Studios' new game has tight gunplay and great maps. More importantly, there are quality-of-life features that every extraction shooter should implement.

It’s like if Ace Watkins, Gamer President, were actually stupid and evil and actually in power. It’s also like if Ace Watkins was riddled with dementia and he needed his Gamer Staffers to post this.

This is like musical GTA VI, or like, maybe more like “Bloodborne remake.” Legendary amounts of anticipation.

I just need more experimental bangers like Act II had, mainline them into my veins.

Like I totally get that we’re just knee-deep in fascism at this point but I still can’t help but feel a twinge of surprise every time this guy so blatantly and evilly misleads his cultists. He’s just lying through his teeth for the love of the game, man.
Trump tonight appears to have pushed the false "medbed" conspiracy theory, which has spread in the far-right internet over the years. www.yahoo.com/news/qanon-c...

“Keeping it in the gc” is by FAR the best advice, but I also sometimes love a spot of the ol’ “type out a message to vent my rage, stare at it for 5 seconds, take a deep breath, and delete the whole thing instead of posting.”

I remember when Defector launched it felt like a tide was turning. That there was hope in the world beset by plague and Donald fucking Trump.

Things are dark again, but five years on seeing the influence Defector has had reflected in the existence of @aftermath.site @rascal.news is heartening

My entire TikTok FYP is Booster Gold edits set to “Gold” by Spandau Ballet. I must’ve already listened to this song like dozens of times in the past three days alone. I don’t know why this is happening but I’m hooked.

Has anyone played Overwatch 2 on the Switch 2? I know it’s like comically bad on the original Switch but I have a hankering to play some OW while I’m away from home and I want to know if the experience is passable (at least for non-aim intensive heroes like Moira and LW).

The Switch 2 is actually kind of absurdly good for indie gaming… being able to take DK Bananza on the go and then swap right over to something like Cloudpunk or Moonglow Bay at any time feels amazing.

The video game industry's rush to $80 games has stalled — for now. But what does the future look like?

Seems to me like the solution to a more sustainable video game industry is cutting costs, not raising prices. This week's column:

The Industry’s Rush to $80 Video Games Has Stalled — For Now
Publishers trying to sell video games at a newly elevated price point have not found success just yet. Will they ever?

And when Google kills all the websites we write for, what will they use to generate the shitty AI summaries?

Laughably unsustainable practice, but y’know what, my fault for going to J-school, gang.
Hey is it bad if google AI search results stop people from leaving google dot com 99% of the time? All our news and information creators can survive just fine with one percent of their previous search traffic right? I’m sure it’s fine. www.404media.co/googles-ai-i...

The monkey’s paw on James Gunn’s “woke Superman” is now curling and so we are now subject to “no DEI” in an official press release for a series he used to be involved with.

A modern tragedy, for sure.

I feel like maybe I’m grasping at straws but I totally connected Lex Luthor’s lackeys to GamerGate in the new Superman movie.

They tap away at controllers to fight the hero, gamer rage when they lose, and they gleefully form the backbone for the pathetic loser alt-right stand-in’s schemes.

An update: management has chosen not to recognize our Product, Engineering, and Humble Bundle colleagues as part of IGNCG, instead insisting on a time-consuming NLRB hearing, which took place last week.

Help us spread the word: we will not be divided. We are IGN, and we will always stand together.
It’s been-

One week since we asked IGN Entertainment to recognize our friends on the product, engineering, and Humble Bundle teams as part of the IGN Creators Guild.

The sooner that happens, the sooner we can start working with management to build towards a stronger future for us all!

I reviewed @pigeonsatplay.bsky.social’s Mycopunk, and what I found was a surprisingly competent rival to Deep Rock Galactic that pulls inspiration from a myriad of FPS subgenres.

This game is a love letter to shooters, that’s for sure.

An astonishing figure in this piece:

Last year, the U.S. budgeted $12.8B for new affordable housing.

This country is now poised to spend $45B on immigrant detention centers.

That's nearly *four times* as much on cages as on homes—in the middle of a devastating housing and homelessness crisis.
Are We About to Have Labor Camps in the United States of America?
If you think that’s far-fetched, then you really haven’t been paying attention to what the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress have been up to lately.
