Yeah, these heavily white/college-educated Republican districts love to give Republicans massive overperformances.

Had a similar one in Montgomery back in 2019 in a Trump+18 district. That ended up backing the Republicans by 36 in a special.

Hell, even if you count all of Adams's votes towards the Republicans (because he was the Republican nominee here in 2022/2024), then it's still a 20 point overperformance.

He's the 2022/2024 Republican nominee who was endorsed by the local Independent Party. He wasn't put on the ballot, so he's running as a write-in.

And the Republican turned out to have a criminal past, something that wasn't disclosed until after I wrote the preview.
