A political movement which supports unity, a movement for all, not just one section of society. Not for the super-rich, or the wealthy, or the comfortable, or the poor, but for everyone.

A year of reasons why Ofwat should just say NO to Thames Water's outrageous deal: a licence to pollute our water until 2040.

JULY: half of Thames Water's treatment plants can't handle demand. This is where lack of investment leads.

Tell Ofwat to reject the deal. #OFWATsayNO

“Almost no matter how the wealthy earn their money, it is not considered taxable income. You can inherit, your stock portfolio can go up and you can withdraw millions. Nothing is taxable.”

Regional inequality and growth has become a focus for successive governments - one aspect of this is the difference in wages across local labour markets.

These wage differences reflect more than just varying living costs: they are e tightly related to the productivity of local labour markets.

While govt is slashing support for disabled people to save £6.7 billion, a #WealthTax on just multi-millionaires and billionaires could raise £24 billion. Great to meet @patmillsuk.bsky.social‬ and @taxjusticeuk.bsky.social‬ to talk about a fairer tax system.

The headline outlook for living standards is, at best, disappointing.

Across our four different scenarios, the projections for the typical income over the next five years is currently weak.

Agree with Zack Polanski.

So 10,000 out of 3,000,000 millionaires left the country last year - a tiny 0.33% of the total - who cares. Taxing wealth not work is something we’ve been saying for a while.

Thanks for the support.

If only we could tackle the climate crisis like this - mobilising vast sums of money and organising vast industries to produce green energy and other good stuff - like there’s no tomorrow. Rather than bombs.

Right now, less than 40% of our electricity comes from gas, but we let it set the price we pay 100% of the time. In the short term by breaking this link we can slash bills - right now.

In Britain we have a mad system that allows the global price of gas to set the price we pay for our own green energy - from the wind and sun. It’s why our bills remain some of the highest in Europe.

Green energy won’t get energy bills down, Centrica’s Chris O’Shea is right about that - but he doesn’t nail why. It’s not about CFDs for green energy projects. It’s about the price of fossil gas; the boss of Centrica (aka British Gas) must know this.

This is an absurd apology for the ultra-rich: It concludes that we should have all our wealth held by one person because that would be best for "regular people." 🙄

Meanwhile, we just want people paid fairly & rich people paying their taxes. www.forbes.com/sites/johnta...

Net zero I say.

By 2050 they are expected to become the dominant heat source, with the National Energy System Operator suggesting they will keep two thirds of families warm by then
