American. Citizens. Cannot. Be. Deported.

I know we all want to be concise, but we simply cannot use the shorthand terms of the fascists when they describe wildly illegal & unconstitutional things.

Extrajudicial renditions. Kidnappings. Wildly unconstitutional fascism. All right there as options.

The first question we need to ask is why Trump wants to keep Abrego García in El Salvador. A normal administration would want to retrieve someone wrongly sent to a foreign gulag. I believe part of the reason I that Trump wants a fight with the courts in which he can defy their orders.

The FTC is still selectively pursuing scattered consumer protection stuff to sell the press on the populist ruse that Trump 2.0 cares about consumer protection, while with the other hand they're completely eviscerating all regulatory authority, labor rights, corporate oversight, and public safety.

This headline needs to include the word “illegal”. As the article states, it is against the law for the president to order the IRS to target specific entities. Everyone is talking about how bad it is without talking about how it is 100% illegal

Like James, I have lived in and traveled extensively in a number of countries who lack basic food safety regulation.

Americans have no idea how often they will be getting sick - or worse - from the food they eat daily if Trump is able to Make More Americans Shit Themselves to Death Again.
I’ve lived in a relatively developed country that also lacked basic food regulation (China) and you get sick on a very regular basis.

The reason the IRS has no data-leaking API is not because they don't know how to schedule a "hackathon." Instead it's because the API:

1. Likely violates the Privacy Act of 1974
2. Is not within the IRS's mandate
3. Would be a huge target for attacks against the privacy of all Americans
