Fulltime working mom who loves her kids more than anything and her job right behind them, even though the career she loves will be ending soon. Future #displaced. There is probably going to be a lot of doom posting until I'm fired and after.

BREAKING: Donald trump is actually doing something GREAT, promising to crack down on overdraft fees and to BLOCK medical debt from being listed on credit reports! WOW!!!

LOL, just kidding. Actually, President Biden did all that stuff to help Americans, and trump wants to reverse it.

Fucking idiot.

Hillary Clinton did not follow federal rules on her email as Secretary of State and it was a huge media scandal

Donald Trump is violating a foundational aspect of the Constitution as part of an unprecedented assault on US democracy and the media can't be bothered to cover it with the same intensity

The saddest part of watching the US fall is knowing Canada could follow the footsteps. Roger Stone has been involved with Canadian politics, doing the same they did in the US.

Canadians, please do not let any right-leaning candidate win ANY election.

Never invite them in. Shut them out.

I think it speaks volumes that right wingers criticize bluesky for being “liberal” and “left wing”, when it’s really just that hate speech isn’t allowed.

Or granddaughters' rights...

Image desc: orange and yellow text on black background. Text reads "I will never respect anyone who sold off their daughter's rights to save 50 cents on a carton of eggs."

No one ever went broke buying books, right?

Looking for online bookstore recommendations, especially second-hand. Bonus points for vintage and rare books!

I was buying on ebay for a while. It was working out well for used books, but I got scammed with my last five literary purchases.

I love how US history repeats itself over and over again. The failed USian education system at work.

1930s - Mexican Repatriation deported 1.8 million. 60% were US citizens.

1955-56 - Operation deported 1.3 million. Many of them legal citizens.

The Deportation Campaigns of the Great Depression | HISTORY
Up to 1.8 million people of Mexican descent—most of them American‑born—were rounded up in informal raids and deported in an effort to reserve jobs for white people.

How does one obtain a following here? I seem to get some interactions and likes, but not follows. Advice?

I'm not a bot. I don't think I am, at least. Are bots aware they are bots or is that the first step in Self-Awareness Realization? At this point, I would welcome Skynet.

Where tf is Arnold?!

Oh, it is going to happen again. It is going to happen to a lot if Americans - status and background will not matter.
Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.

Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”

It has been over a year since I left Twitter, two weeks since IG and Threads, a week since Facebook. This has been such an upgrade for me. The lack of hate is a nice break from what the US has become.

Very smart things.

We are replacing old technology with new that can get us through several years, too.

Just consolidated student loans knowing forgiveness isn’t happening.

Credit cards almost entirely paid off.

Paying in full for everything where possible rn.
Americans are prepping like we’re going to war. People are:

- dumping stocks and moving finances around
- getting vaccines & screenings
- seeking legal protections for them & their children
- updating passports
- making lists of FOOD to deep freeze
- re-evaluating degrees & jobs
- seeking DIVORCES

My future of homelessness is looking great. Guess I should enjoy my mortgage while I got it. At least my car is paid off and we can live in there. Two adults, three kids, two dogs, and a cat... living in a car. Sounds like a bad joke.

Remember the rules here: Don’t ever engage, just block.

It’s still a lot of randos coming into posts to antagonize or debate on purpose. Dont fall for the okeedoke. If the vibes are weird block

Also remember that you can detach quotes, hide bad replies, and blocking here is nuclear
