We're facing a nurse staffing crisis because hospital administrators intentionally understaff units to increase their bottom line — and people aren't willing to work in these awful and dangerous conditions.

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

How much has ICE officer training deteriorated under Trump?
New deportation officers at ICE used to receive about 5 months of training; Academy training has now been shortened to just 47 days, a number "picked because Trump is the 47th president."

Important to note that whatever is happening with management and ownership at CBS News, they still have good journalists doing good work.
So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...

Today marks 15 years since Gabby Giffords was shot at a constituent meeting, in an attack that killed 6 and wounded 13.
I am proud to cosponsor a bipartisan, bicameral resolution to honor the victims and their families today, and recommit to ending gun and political violence.

"Hires remain depressed" says it all.

Your #JOLTs analysis from @elisegould.bsky.social
Today, the BLS released the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover survey data for November, which showed little changed across the board. Job openings and hires ticked down slightly. Hires remain depressed at rates akin to 2013.

If US action in Venezuela is not an act of war, what is this:

The Cuban government charges President Trump with piracy, deploys commandos to grab him
(killing 40 Americans in the process), and then claims they “run the US.”

Would we call that an act of war?

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.
