We ALL know they care nothing about children. It rings hollow every time. Hard to imagine why they even bother to raise it as a marketing ploy. Republicans prefer pedophiles to children, death by preventable disease to vaccines, starvation to nutrition, and ignorance to education in every case.

Remember it is never about whatever Republicans say it is about.
They live in a say one thing, work to create the opposite world; not exactly a perpetual game of Opposite Day but frighteningly close.
Words: "protect children" actions: protect child abusers, defund education, kindle illness & death.

They don’t care about children, they care about votes and power.

Wedge issues like abortion, guns and trans people rile up the republican base so they will vote.

They want to make it legal to marry a 14 year old teenager going through puberty, to be seen by law as an adult for sex purposes or charged with a crime. They won’t be able to vote though ..That way, Trump and all those powerful men won’t be able to get charged with sexual abuse of children either.

This is why people need to remember the saying “actions speak louder than words”, because if you say one thing & do another then it’s actually a lie. Saying one thing & doing another is something I keep seeing with the current USA government, sadly.

They also protect pedophiles.

So there's that on top then.

Every day is opposite day in Trumpland. War is peace, exorbitant is affordable, dumb is smart.

They passed a law to do invasive body searches on children. Unsupervised children (immigrants)

And to put these children in jail with adults.

Trump and Republicans claim they want to "protect children."

But they've rolled back child labor laws and environmental protections, blocked gun safety reform, and spread lies about vaccines that save children from deadly diseases.

The “Bootstraps” idiom was originally meant to refer to the literally impossible. It was co-opted.
Idiom Origin

“pull yourself up by your bootstraps”

This was originally *sarcasm* & meant to convey that the act was impossible.

A boot strap is a loop used to help put your boot on.

This 1921 cartoon from the “Nonpartisan Leader” showcases that you can’t pull upward on your boots to levitate.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Meanwhile, he's led an all-out assault on Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs that help the poor.
