Neighbours are literally in tears. This was a massive failure on the City's part. They refused to take action when slimy developers damaged the tree over and over again.

Distracted today by City crews taking down a silver maple that has been outside my house for 120+ years. It was once a beautiful, thriving canopy and was damaged by shady builders a couple years ago. It's not dead, but apparently the city doesn't care to try and preserve it.

And a sucker for punishment, apparently.

I wonder if CUPE will join the Teamsters' lawsuit? Binding arbitration, especially so soon in a labour action, is a dramatic overreach into workers' rights to strike.

I know there are more serious things happening in the world, but the decision by @mark-carney.bsky.social 's Liberals to impose binding arbitration on AC flight attendants tells you everything you need to know about this government. That union had massive public approval for this job action.
