some thoughts on @switchedonpop.bsky.social ‘s excellent Life of a Showgirl episode. No mention of Natalie Merchant’s era-defining album Ophelia where she also embodies various female archetypes the suffragette the mafia wife the nun. It feels similar.

I went into Bahrisons in Khan market yesterday and saw a stack of these on the counter. Apparantly Santanu Battacharya was there signing books and just left. A novel about three generations of gay men in one family in India. The first 2 chapters are great. #queerliterature #LGBTbooks #queerindia

Not sure what posessed me to go paint at India gate at holiday time. Was mobbed by schoolkids who were cute until the groups got bigger and bigger and then they started pushing each other to see and eventually knocked my easel over. Pretty happy with the painting though. #pleinair #watercolor

I just learned that around the corner from our Czech Embassy there once stood this beautiful and beloved brutalist Chanakya cinema from 1970. Torn down in 2017 to make way for a luxury mall that caters to the most ostentatiously wealthy, valet-parking Delhi “elite”. @brutalismbot.com
