Hello, everyone, I am planning on leaving the country for safety reasons. If you would like to help, I am offering art commissions. Below are some examples of my work. DM if interested!

I've made the decision to leave the country for my safety. I am nonbinary, and my gut instinct is telling me to leave. I have a connection in the UK willing to house me and I'll be taking the steps to head out that way in the coming months.

Last week, I wrote about 2,100 words in my WIP which is more than I completed the week prior. I’m seeing a little more progress in my attempts to complete draft zero of this book, the steps I’m taking are a bit less of a stagger and closer to a stride.

Having my nonbinary gender identity being invalidated on a national scale is some mind fuckery I wasn't prepared to cope with. While managing the associated depression and anxiety, I have to focus on how the fuck I'm supposed to address the paperwork issue that comes from this executive order.

Currently writing a science fantasy book about religious trauma. Two aliens, a man and his wife, are at odds because they are both deeply spiritual but one is even more deeply religious.

Last week, I managed to write roughly 1,500 words in my WIP.
While I’m grateful for the energy I had to write this much, I did not reach my goal of writing 5k words so I can get past the 50k mark to complete draft zero.

I'm finding it more of a challenge than usual to write these days.

2025 will be a different year for my writing life and goals.
While I still want to accomplish as much as I can this year in terms of self and traditional publishing of my work, circumstances in my personal life have slowed my progress over the past year and will continue to affect me.

"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

I've been seeing a lot of fundie christians on Facebook likening the LA fire to soddom and gomora. So. Many. Hateful. Comments. They're too stupid to realize that not everyone in LA is a fucking Hollywood elite. Fundamentalism is a blight on humanity.

I'm seeing a lot of GoFundMes today, for people displaced by disaster/war, and for other purposes, so if you/a friend have a GoFundMe (or other legit personal fundraising appeal) running, here's a thread for you to use to raise awareness. Go ahead and post the details and links in the comments.

So I'm listening to Don't Let The Forest In by C. G. Drews audiobook on Libby and it's so beautiful. The gay romantic era poet in me feels so seen, I love it.

This new year is off to an awkward, shaky start for me. My personal and financial life more often than not try to take over my writing. Existence itself is a strain.
Yesterday, I wrote for the first time since November, so that at least is a good sign.

It’s been a slow week, this time of year is when my gears gradually power down. It’s not as much of an excuse to be lazy, than me following the rhythm of nature. Shorter days, bitterly cold nights, frosty breath all leave me in a contemplative mode.

When I’m stuck trying to write something, after typing that “I don’t know what to write”, funnily enough, a new thread appears and allows the flow to progress.

Today’s quote from my WIP:
“The bell rang and it pained him. He didn’t wish to return to his cell so early. He had grown a particular loathing towards the rope, more than anything else.

I’ve been writing in a science fantasy world of blood red sand dunes and yellow skies, of scorching winds, of endless roaming into sepulchral underground caverns. But when I close the Google Docs tab, I must leave the fantasy world behind where everything is so off-puttingly normal.
