Glutamate is the primary molecule that neurons use to communicate with each other.

Previously, scientists have mostly recorded when neurons fire output signals, but now with a new glutamate indicator, they can record the many inputs that causes cells to fire. 🧵

I almost never endorse businesses on the socials, but. Electrician Andrew of Mod Tech not only turned up for my emergency two days before Christmas, he took good care of us.

I feel more relaxed than I have in a week!

I know someone whose Hispanic cleaner, a citizen, has been stopped by ICE here 4 times. He’s now afraid to leave his abode. For now, most clients continue to pay him.

Waiting for ICE to leave Minnesota!

DOJ broke the law today by refusing to produce all the Epstein files. It also broke the law by redacting information other than to protect victims. Yet, the corporate media is acting that DOJ did us a huge favor.

Now, more than ever, help build independent, pro-democracy media. hubs.ly/Q03CbHTt0

Listening to a study that showed that kids who grew up before digital connectivity (when kids could roam free without constant supervision) are better able to make decisions and be alone.

Seems the outcome was determined before the study.

No accounting for child mortality back then.

I think it's unhealthy for young lgbt folk to see people talking about how their parents stopped speaking to them for not being cishet. I'm 50 I had to come out twice to my parents and they have been nothing but supportive and wonderful. Maybe your parents will be too. Don't be scared.

Muting a Black woman to claim the vote was unanimous is so incredibly on the nose
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

I cannot emphasize how serious an assault on democracy this is. Any effort by the Trump administration to engage in false claims of fraud or mass voter suppression relies on this as a building block. As importantly, there is no legitimate reason DOJ would want this information.
🚨BREAKING: The Department of Justice (DOJ) sued Georgia, Illinois, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C. Thursday for unfettered access to the states’ voter registration records. The federal government has now filed lawsuits against 21 states, plus D.C.

This is a developing story...

Ending a $5 million research study when it is 70% complete does not save $1 million, it wastes $4 million.

When a project loses federal funding before completion, finding alternative resources is challenging. Most philanthropies do not have comparable resources.
