I am furious that DOJ ignored the new federal law requiring release of the Epstein Files. I am equally angry that so many in legacy media seem not to care.

Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

Former nursing home executive and convicted fraudster Joseph Schwartz was pardoned by Trump earlier this month.

Schwartz secured the pardon after paying two other convicted fraudsters nearly $1M to lobby Trump on his behalf.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Leavitt, this week: "President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and he was a creep."

Trump, asked in 2019 if he had “any suspicions” that Epstein was molesting underage women: "No, I had no idea. I had no idea."

From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.

The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

Once again, the main day of Tea Party protests had about 300,000 nationwide, but saw endless coverage.

The No Kings protests had about 7,000,000 nationwide, and many media outlets reacted with a yawn.

No Kings was nearly 25x as big as the Tea Party but the Tea Party got 25x the attention.
Ask yourself this: How would the New York Times have covered the protests if it had been seven million MAGA supporters flooding the streets? We don’t even have to guess: We know how they and other mainstream outlets covered the Tea Party protests during Obama’s first term.

Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.
In April of 2009 I observed the Tea Party rally in Salem. As this front page story says, there were a couple hundred people there. This past weekend in Salem there were roughly 2-3000 people at the Hands Off rally. Yet the Tea Party coverage seemed to take that event far more seriously.

All of this is true, and on top of it:

Since when is it unusual for an opposition party to run against a sitting executive with a net approval rating of -13?

It's the most obvious and logical strategy! The burden of persuasion is on anyone suggesting they don't do that.
There's just no way to exaggerate how cooked your brain has to be to think like this. Trump is an unprecedented, law-breaking, norm-breaking, increasingly demented maniac who is destroying this country's basic institutions. Like, right now! As we speak!

But media elites find that boring.

The effect of Trump’s policies on health insurance have been revealed

A 60 year couple in Kentucky making $85,000 might pay $23,700 more

In Nevada-$18,100 more

In Minnesota-$15,500

In Maryland-$13,700

It’s absolutely unsustainable

THIS is why there is a Trump shutdown
