So a bunch of other people have already reminded everyone that the Met Gala funds art in the form of its Costume Institute.
But I think it's worth mentioning that tonight's display is also art. And it's art that's being made very accessible to the general public via the internet. That's good!

After the L.A. fires, federal and state disaster agencies refused to perform comprehensive soil testing to ensure properties in burn zones are free of fire-related contamination. Testing conducted by The Times reveals elevated levels of arsenic, lead and mercury in postfire soil.

While working on Something Else (TBA 😉), I ended up exploring an interesting tangent: the road movie as a distinctly American type of folk horror. I started with movies from the 60s and 70s, but it goes beyond that. Are there some films (of any era) that you would add to the list?
