#cbc Listen shows are not regular podcasts - ie public RSS I can subscribe with whatever app I want?

I didn’t know CBC was in a position to be so selective about how they reach their audience. What’s confusing is that they have tons of podcasts, so they know how to do this

“Virtue Signaling” = I don’t like what you’re saying but I can’t argue against, but that would mean that I’m wrong and that can’t be it… so I guess the only explanation is that you’re screwing with me

I don't think I've ever listened to/read a full Davos WEF speech before but this speech by PMMC is something else. The discussion afterwards is good too. You should find some time to read/listen.

If millennials were chained to an abstract notion of “making it” in life mostly based on materialism, Gen Z are going to have it worse because #wealthsimple just dropped a literal ranking of wealth accumulation so we can track very closely how far/close we are to the 1% (or 0.1%)

For the last 3 years of investing in North-American focused total market index funds I’ve noticed a consistent pattern of “bad news, therefore your portfolio went up”.

More US imperialism was on my bingo card for 2026 but not kidnapping a president before I had my first groceries of the year.

My disgust for this bully nation grows louder. It pains me that I moved inwards on their sphere of influence.

I was a teenager when I first met someone who did not have dinner everyday - because they were poor - and I will never forget the shock followed by shame because it was obvious.

I was in my 30s when I discovered that some people - who are not poor - simply don’t have lunch, or have some sort of […]

Calls grow to re-examine B.C.’s automatic property tax exemptions
In the city of Vancouver alone, $1 billion worth of property is occupied by private and independent schools, while the region has hundreds of places of worship, charities, and even a “cult” that enjoy freedom from property tax bills.

We must plan to not only grow, but grow well. We shouldn’t add people but take away amenities. We shouldn’t add children but shrink their play spaces. And once this is built on, this greenspace isn't coming back for at least 99 years.
