There's a moment in the new season of Light & Magic where George Lucas is talking about the reaction people had to Jar Jar and how people (at the time) hated C3P0. Director Joe Johnston says he doesn't remember people hating the character.

So, Niantic is selling the world's most popular location-based game business to the Saudis and is open to using their data and the AI model trained on it for military purposes. If this was in an episode of Doctor Who, people would say this was too on the nose.
