I count 49 news headlines on the NYT mobile app home page right now, not including opinion, sports or cooking. None of them are about the massive protests yesterday.

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.

So this is after the Speaker of the House said the Governor of California should be tarred and feathered, slightly disagreeing with the President and his Border Czar who wanted to arrest him, two months after somebody tried to burn the Governor of Pennsylvania and his family alive in their home.

A reminder to reporters, when historians look back on this moment with the president throwing himself a military parade and the people throwing No Kings rallies across America, the media sources raving about the former and sneering at the latter are going to be quoted by name.

This is your legacy!

Hmmmm . . . I wonder how the Minnesota assassin might have had access to a police uniform, a police badge, and a police cruiser. Are we *sure* he was "impersonating" a police officer?

“Going after the criminals” was the *actual* policy of the Obama administration (post 2011) and the Biden administration. “Everyone goes” was the *actual* policy of Trump I and the platform of Trump II.
Six House Rs, many from vulnerable districts, sent a letter to ICE explicitly saying deporting non-criminals makes us less safe.

It's a striking document. It undercuts Trump's rationale for mass deportations and reveals deep political vulnerability on the issue. 2/
