Sharing some recipes in today’s @vittles.bsky.social 😈 If you were horrified by Iga Świątek’s strawberry pasta, you’re not ready for this one. www.vittlesmagazine.com/p/cooking-fr...

Late to the party, here, but loving the @vittles.bsky.social podcast about the lost food, restaurants and culture of Soho. The 2012 Olympics and Covid amongst the things to blame. A love letter to the much-missed Dionysus at the start.

Great to see this piece in Vittles on how exploited Filipino domestic workers find solace in London's Earl's Court.

This kind of insight shows how the UK's immigration rules impact every fibre of society, from who runs the kitchen to who sits at the table.

Today's Vittles is centred on 'mom-and-pop' joints - family-run eateries and takeaways. I wrote about Shrinath, a little Gujarati grocery shop in Swiss Cottage I've wanted to shout about since I accidentally discovered it a few months back; it sells homemade snacks.

This is such a poignant, eye-opening and brilliantly written piece by Laura Goodman on her family's experience of food allergy. Part of @vittles.bsky.social's special new series on children and food.👇

Kudos + thanks @vittles.bsky.social for carrying this powerful and accurate essay about the reality of parenting and feeding children with allergies.

Do I wish I could just shove an omelette in front of them? Sure. It’s not the bit that leaves me strung out.

My first full-length single restaurant review for @vittles.bsky.social is out today, about a Nashville-themed country bar in Chiswick that imports the only USDA beef rib in London and hired a chef from New Orleans, and thus makes actually good barbecue www.vittlesmagazine.com/p/does-londo...

vital links between food production and fascism in britain made in @vittles.bsky.social this morning — including labour's renewal of the seasonal worker scheme which could be in violation of intl. human rights law. food sovereignty and land justice now!

“Given that the majority of the general population supports British farmers, the vision of the farmer that Clarkson wants to paint – as a hard-grafting, common-sense, anti-woke Volk – could lay some of the groundwork to enable a home-grown British fascism to take root.”

I wrote this piece for Vittles exploring Jeremy Clarkson, Reform, farmers' protests, the far right, conspiracy theory and the agrarian left. I argue that it's impossible to separate Clarkson the entertainer with Clarkson the (far right) political agitator.
