Totalitarian politics—far from being simply antisemitic or racist or imperialist or communist—use and abuse their own ideological and political elements until the basis of factual reality…has all but disappeared. —Hannah Arendt #hannaharendt #booksky
So honest question. What are the democrats actually DOING right now? Is there a pulse? Or are we DOA?

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

At first I thought this was going to be a venue for thoughtful analysis but it’s turned into hate. Which is the surest sign of effete inefficacy. Becoming the photographic negative of MAGA denying all responsibility for the current state of the culture and blame blame blame isn’t going to work.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

I saw both the Twin Towers and Lehman Brothers fall, with my own eyes.

(I used to live a short walk from the former, and was in the Starbucks across the street from the latter, as employees started coming out with cardboard boxes.)

Last I checked, millennials are a wee bit financially more sound in Assets-to-Debt ratio than gen-x (genx has high assets, but very high debt load). 🤷‍♀️

And, time is on Millennials' side.

But YES, they're getting a shit sandwich, and I feel for them.

I think this is why my cohort (Gen X) has been kind of backfooted for the last 8 years. We had that, the whole time we were growing up and forming views etc., right up until we didn’t. My best friend from middle school after the election in 2016: “this happened on our watch bc we didn’t watch.”

This reads like there will never be strong leadership in America again. I don’t believe that. It’s certainly the death of neoconservative foreign policy. I like Mr. Kristol. But have we forgotten who he is and what he has stood for? While this destabilizing moment is burning a Cold War legacy

1) people dying from your poorly tested and unsafe fraud-vehicles

2) 450 humans who contracted Covid after you broke the law and reopened your factory
Mad Elon is getting a taste of his own medicine and apparently doesn’t like how it tastes. Give him more.

I would say it’s possible we SHOULD deport jihadists. Let’s not forget the issue is “without due process” and not whether jihadist propaganda is “free speech.” Otherwise we are living in The Crucible 2: Electric Boogaloo. It’s hard for nuance to survive such times.
We have reached the crowd-sourcing deportation lists phase.
