If the plans fail, I’ll make new plans. Orioles, Ravens, Terps. Pro-democracy. Democrat. Surprised at how woke the world has made me.

I think this explains 2025 pretty well.
They’re going to go into Christmas dinner renaming the Kennedy Center and release of the Epstein files.

I highly doubt many have lost jobs do to AI, but many people have not gained jobs because of AI. The stagnating hiring market is definitely due in part to AI and the “Great AI Replacement Experiment” where companies don’t hire to figure out whether AI results in net capacity. True pressure test.

Very disappointed to get Broncos vs Packers rather than Grandpa Rivers. Boo CBS, one more thing you’ve done wrong.

If someone were to ask why I’m on Bluesky (which they won’t), I would answer with this (which they wouldn’t understand)
As a child, you yearn for titanium

As an adult, you realize tungsten is what you wanted all along

I can’t wait to see the financials.
An IPO of $30 billion-plus for SpaceX would be a fresh test of just how much an appetite stock investors have for backing Elon Musk.
SpaceX IPO Would Give Musk Two of World’s Biggest Listed Companies
Company could be valued at $1.5 trillion in 2026 stock offering.

Real Bluesky politics has never been tried.
Bluesky politics won’t win Texas
People won’t like to hear this, but the way for a Democrat to win in Texas is to get 60 percent in Harris County where Houston is, and win back Latino voters in the Rio Grande valley. That will mean an economically populist message but being more conservative on guns and border security.

Primary elections are important because elections are a charisma check and the only way to test it is via ballots. If you can win a primary campaign you are much better off going into the general election.

Whoever came up with the idea of beat up primary winner missed the last 15 years.
Crockett is weighing a run for Senate and asked Colin Allred to drop out and run for governor instead as part of a slate that would also have Joaquin Castro run for attorney general. But Democrats fear she might blow their first chance in years to win in Texas. #TXSen

i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

what follows immediately after the birthright clause? the privileges and immunities and due process clauses? and what follows them? the equal protection clause. all of this is explicitly to say, "the declaration is the constitutional law of the land"

The biggest issue with Fed Chair Hassett will be when he increases interest rates before the 2030 midterms on President Pritzker.

I absolutely think you could run on a platform of constitutional amendments and changing the pardon power would be top of my list

In a non-snarky way this makes sense, a huge part of an executive’s job is parsing through unstructured communications and knowing where to look. AI can have a huge benefit for that and if it is wrong it isn’t usually big deal.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

In nearly every movie, Will Smith just plays Will Smith with a different name. Watched MiB and Independence Day and he is the same character.

The key words here are excellent and productivity boost. They do require a lot of handholding even with agents, so they are not excellent. Frankly they struggle with existing large codebases.

The handholding and other engineering tasks mean productivity gains are small.

Great at greenfield!
At the risk of starting the flame war to end all flame wars...

Modern LLMs (GPT-5.1, Claude 4.5, Gemini 3) produce excellent code and can be a significant productivity boost to software engineers who take the time to learn how to effectively apply them - especially if used with coding agent tools

we must consider that harbaugh cursed the ravens by visiting trump (a guy who actively loathes baltimore) in the white house before the season even started and the only way to lift the curse is the immediate shitcanning of harbaugh

It’s amazing how much the economy is propped up by not only AI CAPEX, but by stock market wealth effects related to AI. S&P 500 is up $27T in less than 3 years and people spend about 3% of gains. Plus bond yields are high. Worth at least 1%, maybe 2% growth
