This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

85% of Gaza is on the brink of death due to starvation. Israel could let aid in at any moment. And some people (like these men tried to do with me on Friday) are still trying to justify this atrocity.

There is no justification. This could stop at any moment. End the blockade now.

To the “I voted for this” crowd:

You voted for the guy who gutted the National Weather Service. Now we’ve got dead families and missing kids in Texas, because storm warnings didn’t go out in time. And he gutted FEMA so they can’t properly respond to disasters.

That’s what you voted for?

It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.

The GOP slashed the cost of what the mega bill will add to the deficit by zeroing out the cost of extending Trump’s tax cuts from 1st term.
Using fuzzy math doesn’t make the deficit go away, it just makes the GOP more corrupt while passing a bad bill.

I’M GOING TO KEEP POSTING THIS STORY UNTIL ANDRY IS FREED: Gay Venezuelan makeup artist sent to Salvadoran prison after a disgraced cop's report

Andry Hernandez Romero sought shelter in the U.S. because he was persecuted as a gay man, one of the "particular social groups" allowed to claim asylum.

A small note in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case that has received little attention

The government admitted that they mistakenly deported him

But now claim it was no error

And called the DOJ lawyer who handled the case a “saboteur”

Then fired him

Because they don’t want anyone telling the truth

Just a reminder how classic what we're seeing is:
1. redefine a group as a threat to civilization
2. reduce legal protections that they enjoy
3. abuse, threaten, harm, and/or relocate them
4. dismiss/ignore concerns about abuses and harms from the process
5. repeat steps 2-4, escalating each time
Confession that due process is or should be optional according to the vice president

So, I invite MTG’s fans to go to an Ossoff town hall & ask questions. You’ll get answers, not tasers.

SCOTUS, in a 9-0 vote ruled to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back.

He refused.

Judge Xinis ordered him to report back to her on his status.

He refused.

Only dictators ignore the judiciary and rule of law.

Who's next?

It could be anyone, if we don't continue to speak out and take to the streets.

In an effort to distract from the totally not public infighting within the McGOP, let’s double down on demonizing schools and convincing people that a few transgender athletes in the NCAA is a bigger problem than the 420 cases of measles in Texas. But anyway, it’s a mystery why we lost.

🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.
